Close to the pension is the nice village of Kocabey - one advice: don't try walk on non-hardened roads after heavy rain ... :-)

This was my actually my favourite accomodation throughout the whole tour - cosy three room wooden cottage (at about 1450 m asl.), well working heater and shower (at least for two of the three of us). Great view from the cottages. Food offered was ok, but not as good as the next day ... :-) Unfortunately the web page linked on their towel cover (see above) does work. The phone numbers might be correct ...

A magnificent location with an impressive view to the high plane - Ardahan high plane is about 1800 m above sea level.

İşhan monastery on the way to Ardahan

The gravel path up to the monastery's village (at an altitude of about 1100 m) is magnificent and adventurous equally!! Make sure your car is appropriate!

 

 

 

Next to the old monastery is the village's school:

Mountain morning

Waking up early, sun rises shortly after 4am here. Outside the water peacefully flushes the trout basins. A tasty breakfast is waiting for us.



After the breakfast and check out, the tour continues towards Ardahan.
